Guest speaker: Nick Martin – Wildlife PhotographerStories of British MammalsWe are delighted to welcome back wildlife photographer Nick Martin as our guest speaker. He will be sharing with us Stories of British Mammals.

Britain is home to a fascinating array of mammals, from the elusive bats that flit through our twilight skies to the majestic stags that roam our ancient woodlands. Each species, whether it’s the industrious badgers digging beneath the moonlit fields or the playful seals along our rugged coastlines, plays a crucial role in the intricate tapestry of our ecosystem. The world faces significant challenges, with habitat loss, climate change, and human encroachment posing serious threats to Britain’s mammal populations. The decline of these species not only diminishes the biodiversity essential for a healthy ecosystem but also erases part of our natural heritage. Conservation efforts are more critical than ever, and wildlife photography plays a pivotal role in this battle. By documenting the lives of these animals in their natural habitats, photographers like Nick not only help us to celebrate their existence but also highlight the urgent need for action to protect them.Through the power of visual storytelling, we are reminded of the beauty worth saving and the importance of taking immediate steps to ensure that future generations can enjoy the presence of British mammals in the wild.

Refreshment break

Our refreshment break and raffle will be held after the guest speaker’s presentation. If there is time after the refreshment break Steve Hawkes and Denise Taylor will give an update on the latest badger conservation work and activities.

We are always grateful for small prizes for the raffle. Chocolates, bottles of wine, badger related items, etc. Money raised goes towards badger conservation.
